Karen B. London, Ph.D. received her B.S. in Biology from UCLA and a Doctorate in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin. Her research and publications cover such diverse topics as interactions between species that live together, defensive and aggressive behavior, the evolution of social behavior, communication within and between species, learning, and parental investment. As a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist, Dr. London’s clinical work focuses on the evaluation and treatment of serious behavioral problems in dogs.

Dr. London received training from Dr. Patricia McConnell at Dog’s Best Friend, Ltd.  After working for four years as a Behaviorist and Trainer, Dr. London was the Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist and taught training classes at the Upper Valley Humane Society in New Hampshire.

Dr. London has written widely about training and behavior as well as giving educational seminars and speeches on canine behavior for trainers, veterinary and shelter staff, and the public. She also gives guest lectures in university animal behavior courses. Karen is the co-author of Feisty Fid: Help for the Leash-Aggressive Dog, Feeling Outnumbered: How to Manage and Enjoy your Multi-Dog Household and Way to Go:  How to Housetrain a Dog of Any Age. She is currently a columnist for The BARK Magazine, has served for three years on the Animal Behavior Society’s Board of Professional Certification, and is busy writing her next book, which will focus on canine play.

She lives in Flagstaff, Arizona with her husband and two young sons.
