Sit on the veranda at our conference hotel, The Galt House, and watch the river traffic as it plies the Ohio River.  The hotel is within walking distance to the Louisville Slugger Museum, Waterfront Park, and Fourth St. Live! Entertainment
District.

Use the “Louie Link” which connects The Galt House to the downtown area and the Fourth St. Live! Entertainment District.  Visit the many restaurants, including Kaelin’s Restaurant where the Cheeseburger was invented in 1934, pick up a pack of gum, invented in Louisville in 1873, or enjoy the famous Mint Julep at a local establishment.

For hotel reservations, call the hotel directly at (800) 843-4258. To ensure an APDT special conference rate, you must do two things: mention APDT when making reservations and make reservations before September 17, 2008. All rooms and rates are subject to availability.

To ensure the reservations, the hotel requires one night's guarantee (including state and local taxes) using either a check, money order or major credit card.  A deposit will be charged to the credit card at check-in.

Cancellation of a reservation must be received by the hotel 48 hours in advance of the arrival date. Failure to notify the hotel will result in a charge of one night's tariff, plus state and local taxes.

Airline Information

The Louisville International Airport is a mere nine miles from the Galt House Hotel and Suites.

Louisville Ground Transportation

Airport Express Shuttle Service
Fares: $10 one way
Luxury shuttle limousines are available for customers who have pre-arranged pick up between the hours of 7:00am and 8:00pm. (For Service before 7:00am and after 8:00pm the fee is $17 per person.) Outside of baggage claim look for the green pillars labeled “HOTEL.” For reservations, call the Shuttle Service (502) 366-2628 or visit its website www.sandollarlimo.com.

Transit Bus Service
Transit Authority of River City (TARC) buses service the airport. You must have correct change to ride TARC the fare is $1.25. TARC is located on the traffic island on the east end of the terminal. Take the #2 bus to the Fourth and Market Streets stop. TARC (502) 585-1234.

There is a block and a half walk from the bus stop. Walk north on South Fourth Street toward West Main Street where South Fourth Street turns into North Fourth Street. The Galt House Hotel is at 140 North Fourth Street.

Taxi Service
Fares: $15.00 - $20.00

Cabs are available at the traffic island on the left of the taxi stand. Ask at the taxi stand about “Share-a-Ride” to see if anyone else is going your direction. Up to four passengers allowed per taxi ride with the standard rate. In excess of four passengers, the fare increases $3 per person.
