Levels of Membership

Professional Membership

This classification is limited to part- or full-time professional dog trainers, animal behaviorists, and dog training educational personnel who have attained certification from the APDT Board Approved List.

• Priority listing in the APDT Trainer Search
• Approval to use the ADPT Professional Member Logo
• Additional 10% Discount on all APDT Events

• Listing in the online APDT Member Directory

• Subscription to The APDT Chronicle of the Dog

• Access to the members-only E-mail List
• Access to medical, dental, life, liability and other insurance.
• Access to the Members Only area of the APDT Web site, featuring association news, member news bulletins, online access to your personal profile and more.
• Right to vote in APDT elections and serve on the board of directors
• Can serve as committee/task force chair or member

Cost: $150 for a one-year membership.

Full Membership

This classification is open to part- or full-time dog trainers, animal behaviorists, and dog training educational personnel.

• Approval to use the ADPT Full Member Logo
• Listing in the online APDT Member Directory
• Subscription to The APDT Chronicle of the Dog

• Access to the members-only E-mail List
• Access to medical, dental, life, liability and other insurance.
• Access to the Members Only area of the APDT Web site, featuring association news, member news bulletins, educational event listings and online access to your personal profile and more.
• Right to vote in APDT elections and serve on the board of directors
• Can serve as committee/task force chair or member

• Cost: $100 for a one-year membership.

Associate Membership

Membership classification is open to individuals who are associated with or have an interest in the dog training profession, such as veterinarians, vet techs, shelter workers, volunteers and management, animal control officers, etc. Also included in this classification are dog owners and employees of companies who supply products and services to dog trainers.

• Subscription to The APDT Chronicle of the Dog

• Access to the members-only E-mail List
• Access to medical, dental, life, liability and other insurance.
• Access to the Members Only area of the APDT Web site, featuring association news, member news bulletins, online access to your personal profile and more.
• Can serve as committee/task force member
• Cost: $100 for a one-year membership.

The Subscription Membership category has been discontinued, and an actual subscription for purchasing 'The Chronicle of the Dog Magazine' has been established. Retaining a subscription to The Chronicle of the Dog will not provide access to the APDTList or the Members Only section of the APDT Web site. All current Subscription members are welcome to move to one of the other three classifications based on their needs at any time. A subscription to the APDT Chronicle of the Dog is $50 annually.
