Lauren Fox teaches group classes from Puppy Kindergarten to Advanced Competition Training, Private Obedience, and Behavior Modification.  She rescues and re-homes more than 100 dogs a year with All Breed Rescue & Training.

Lauren has clicker trained and rehabilitated hundreds of animals, including many breeds of dogs, wolves, wolf-crosses, cats, parrots and horses. In addition, she works with numerous animal shelters and rescue groups including the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, Pueblo Animal Shelter and Mariah’s Promise. Prior to her rescue work, Fox managed three large veterinary practices and trained in technician work, diet and nutrition.

Fox began her work in rescue in 1997.  She was the Foster Director for Colorado Springs All Breed Rescue, a non-profit dog rescue and education organization, and became the Executive Director in 1998. During this time, she apprenticed with a Certified Behavior Counselor and co-founded a training business in 2000. In 2004, Fox incorporated her training experience with the rescue work and became All Breed Rescue & Training’s Director of Behavior and Training.

Lauren has taught high school and college courses in animal behavior.  She enjoys teaching humans to understand “animal language” – physical, visual, olfactory, and auditory communication, the use of training methods including auto-shaping, bribes, motivators, rein forcers, and punishments, the use of purely positive methods for resolving aggression problems, understanding how animals reason, communicate, correct, punish and operate within a family system and using games for objective reliability testing as well as behavior problem prevention and rehabilitation.

She is a frequent contributor to print, radio and televised media, including Dog Fancy and Bully Breed magazine and The Sandra Mann Show. She currently writes a monthly article for Steppin’ Out magazine.  An avid competitor, Fox holds several agility titles and has competed in Equestrian Hunters/Jumpers and combined training events. She currently competes with her American Staffordshire terrier, Lyra, in Obedience, Rally-O, Agility and Freestyle.
